I am looking forward to trying this with my students. Normally I play jeopardy with them, but this will keep all students interactive at the same time because I can see what progress they are making (i.e. are the filling up their cards).
The difficulty I found with the cards was formatting all of the words to fit in the boxes. Is there an easier way? do I need to make it two columns? Will that effect the format of the game and randomness? As far as time required, it took a little time to type out the words and definitions, but much easier than having students make their own bingo cards and take up class time with that as they are not writing the definitions. I would make this program accessible to students as a means to study because they need to type out the word and definition. One of the best ways I learned to study was by making note cards and this is a way to engage students as well as younger siblings who might be interested in playing the game when they are done. |
