This whole process was really cool. I had started to look at Prezi as the next solution and although it is wonderful (and I have see some AWESOME student Prezi presentations), I am much more familiar with PowerPoint so it cuts down a lot of the creation time to be able to use it. This is not the end all be all as there are still a bunch of flukes with this including that it takes up a lot of space on something like dropbox or cannot be sent through e-mails. However, I feel like it is a great tool to add to my teacher tool chest that mixes things up. I also think this would be great for students for performance assessments or the like to spice it up and add another level of complexity, which might just add to their engagement. From my own experience I was really shy to start talking into the mic.
I believe it is absolutely fantastic for a student who has missed a day of class to be able to catch up on their own because it can be posted on weebly pro. With that in mind, I don't lecture everyday nor do I use PowerPoint everyday so it has some limitations. |
